Position: Volunteer Legal Assistant
Open to: All law students
Time Commitment: 3 hours once or twice a month
Location: Northwest Justice Project – 401 2nd Ave. South, Suite 407 (Pioneer Square)
Recommended Skills/Prerequisites: Experience with domestic violence or interest in learning.
Type of Supervision and Training: Direct supervision from an attorney
Any compensation: Unpaid volunteer

Volunteers are needed for the Cross-Cultural Family Law Clinic, a KCBA Neighborhood Legal Clinic. Volunteer legal assistants will greet clinic clients and complete the NLC intake forms with clients and interpreters. Volunteers will also assist attorneys with making copies, printing documents, and doing limited research. Volunteers also may have opportunities to sit in on client meetings to assist attorneys.
