Primary responsibility will be to support the work of the legal staff to identify and respond to legal and administrative obstacles to voter participation. Duties will include performing legal research for legislation, reports, and litigation; identifying relevant legal, rulemaking, or legislative proceedings; and interacting with election reform organizations and key election officials. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with outreach and organizing for a student voter project.
This is a great opportunity for exposure to election law for someone who is a self-starter and comfortable handling significant responsibility. Must possess strong research, analytical, and written and oral communications skills. Ability to meet deadlines is required.
15-20 hours/week for part-time or 40 hours/week for full-time. FELN will assist students in obtaining academic credit for the internship.
