What is Reach Enumclaw?

Reach Enumclaw is a legal clinic that seeks to provide the city of Enumclaw (which does not have any legal clinics) with the benefits of free legal advice. We are a general advice clinic and we attempt to help clients with all legal matters other than criminal issues. The clinic is every second and fourth Thursday of the month and runs from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. The thing that makes Reach Enumclaw unique is that the attorney and the client conduct their interview via Skype. We are working with a woman named Britt Nelson who works for Plateau Outreach Ministries, a non-profit in Enumclaw. Mrs. Nelson trains a local volunteer to assist the clinic attendees with Skype and contacting the attorney. The local volunteer typically calls the volunteer attorney on Skype and the client has about a half hour to speak with the attorney.

Responsibilities: The volunteer coordinator is responsible for scheduling one attorney for each of our clinics. The volunteer coordinator must also let our volunteer, Britt Nelson, know who the attorney volunteer will be so that she can let the local volunteer know who to call.

The volunteer coordinator is also responsible for growing our contact list of volunteer attorneys by reaching out to new potential volunteers and organizations like the KCBA.

Time commitment: The volunteer coordinator has a flexible schedule and can work from wherever they have access to a computer. The time commitment may vary, but averages around 5 hours per month.

  • Pro bono hours
  • Networking with local attorneys
  • Experience in management and coordinating

Ideal candidate:

  • Able to self manage
  • Interest in pro bono and/or low bono work
